Dossiers
You will find in these dossiers detailed information on topics about skyguide and air traffic control.

Air traffic control is a complex thing. It is important that we can present in a clear manner those topics which concern us directly.
Our dossiers:
- Swiss government aviation policy and air navigation services. The Swiss Federal Council published its report on Swiss aviation policy in December 2004, which lays down clear and concrete guidelines for Switzerland’s present and future aviation policy.
- Single European Sky. The European Commission’s "Single European Sky" (SES) programme is intended to consolidate and harmonise the currently fragmented European air traffic management system, and thereby enhance the efficiency of the system as a whole.
- The safety maxim. Safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness are the three basic requirements of skyguide which are specified in its mandate from the Swiss government.
- Air traffic control and environmental protection. Skyguide works actively at local levels and in international bodies to limit the damage caused to the environment by air traffic.
- Punctuality and air traffic: a daily challenge. Skyguide is striving constantly to improve punctuality, and it has succeeded in significantly driving down its delays without compromising safety in any way.
- In the service of light aviation users. Skyguide offers a wide range of services, most of the time free of charge, to the light aviation community, and strives to meet these users’ needs as comprehensively as possible.
- Airspace structure around Zurich. The airspace around Zurich Airport (LSZH) has been subjected to sizeable changes since April 14, 2005.
- Air accident at Überlingen. On July 1, 2002 two planes collided in the airspace controlled by skyguide above South Germany.
