Safety policy

We are responsible for the safety of people. Safety is therefore the key part of our culture, where we constantly look to improve work methods and management systems that provide the air navigation system as a whole with the best possible robustness. Our safety policy defines that commitment.

Safety strategy

Our safety strategy enables us to maintain the desired level of safety despite rapid changes in technology, and political, environmental and financial pressures.

Safety management

Our Safety Management System (SMS) is an integral part of our management process, wherein we systematically identify, assess and address potential safety hazards – whether human, procedural or technical.

Safety nets

Humans make errors. In aviation, various technical systems and procedures are used – aboard aircraft and on the ground – to alleviate potential consequences of human error. These “safety nets” are designed to alert pilots and controllers in good time to potentially hazardous situations.

The Eurocontrol Safety Regulatory Requirements (ESARR) were developed by Eurocontrol for the safety of air navigation. They are valid for all Eurocontrol member states, including Switzerland.
