Skyguide employees decide not to appeal Überlingen court

The skyguide employees involved in the Bülach District Court judgments of September 4 in the criminal proceedings over the Überlingen air disaster have elected not to appeal against the judgments concerned. The decision to refrain from further legal process was based, they said, on the human and emotional aspects of such action rather than the legal arguments and their prospects of success: “Any appeal would have meant several more years of due legal process. We do not want to inflict this on ourselves, our families, the bereaved, our colleagues or our company. We hope that our decision enables us all to find sufficient closure and seek a new start.”
