Skyguide’s CFO Marc R. Bohren to step down in mid-year 2018

Due to retirement, skyguide’s long-standing Chief Financial Officer, Marc R. Bohren, will step down from his position on 30 June 2018. He will remain fully responsible for the financial department until that date. Marc R. Bohren informed the Executive Board of his decision already last year to ensure an orderly transition. After resigning from his function as CFO, he will continue to work for skyguide in a number of capacities, concentrating on selected strategic mandates. The search for a successor has been initiated.

Marc R. Bohren joined the company in 1999 and since then served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board. Throughout this time, he has held the overall responsibility for all financial matters of the company.

In the last two decades, Marc R. Bohren has had a significant impact on the development of skyguide. He played a major role in the transformation of a formal federal enterprise into a modern company in compliance with high international financial and accounting standards. Over the years, he professionalised the company in all financial matters and enhanced its performance by implementing new financial, tax and accounting structures.

Marc R. Bohren also created new opportunities for the company. He played a central role in the foundation of SkySoft-ATM in 2001, a software development firm mainly owned by skyguide. In the same period, he initiated and prepared the creation of the autonomous pension fund skycare.

Alex Bristol, Chief Executive Officer of skyguide, says: “Over the years, we have relied on Marc’s business acumen and his decisive focus on the company’s financial targets. Thanks to his contributions, skyguide is now ready to face the future challenges in the aviation sector and the Single European Sky. I would like to thank Marc for his outstanding work, commitment and achievements”.

Marc R. Bohren, Chief Financial Officer, comments: “I’m grateful to have been part of a great team and to have had the opportunity to significantly contribute to skyguide’s development and long-term prosperity. Now, I’m looking forward to remain with skyguide to ensure a smooth transition, before entering a new phase of life”.
