Geneva, 26 October 2026 – The Board of Directors of Skyguide has appointed Gilles Bloch-Morhange as Chief Finance & People Officer (CFPO). He will take up his new role on 1 May 2027, succeeding Nicole Leyre, who will leave Skyguide upon reaching the age limit set for her position. With this appointment, Skyguide’s future Executive Board is now complete.

As announced in May 2026, Skyguide’s Executive Board will be reduced from nine to five members as of 1 January 2027. The new structure is part of the company’s realignment and aims to make Skyguide simpler and more efficient, while strengthening its focus on its core business.

Gilles Bloch-Morhange joined Skyguide in 2021 as Head of Strategy & Business Development. Since 1 July 2025, he has served as Chief Business Development Officer ad interim and as a member of the Executive Board. In his various roles, he has played a significant part in shaping Skyguide’s strategy and advancing major strategic projects and the company’s transformation.

“Over the past few years, Gilles Bloch-Morhange has made a significant contribution to Skyguide’s strategic development and has driven major transformation projects forward. He has demonstrated strong leadership, a high level of commitment and resilience. His international experience and in-depth knowledge of our company will be highly valuable as we continue to develop Skyguide. I very much look forward to continuing our collaboration,” says Peter Merz, CEO of Skyguide.

Before joining Skyguide, Gilles Bloch-Morhange held various management positions at SITA in the field of IT and telecommunications services for the aviation industry. He worked in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. He holds a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and IT and complemented his education with executive management programmes at IMD in Lausanne.

Planned transitions

Nicole Leyre will continue in her role until the end of April 2027, ensuring an orderly transition. She has been Chief Financial Officer of Skyguide and a member of the Executive Board since 2018.

Hans Bracher, currently Chief Human Resources Officer and a member of the Executive Board, will take regular retirement at the end of 2026. He has headed Skyguide’s Human Resources function since 2012 and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2015.

The Board of Directors and the Executive Board would like to take this opportunity to warmly thank Nicole Leyre and Hans Bracher for their outstanding commitment over the years and their important contribution to the development of Skyguide. They wish them both all the best for this new chapter in their lives.
